MISS CONGENIALITY SET

MISS CONGENIALITY(2000):

This is very cute! It's got some great actors, including
Star Trek's William Shatner, Boston Legal's Candace
Bergan, Michael Cain(Batman Begins, The Dark Knight),
and of course Sandra Bullock! B+

From an IMDb.com customer:

Honestly speaking I had not very high expectations
for this one. Not because I thought it was bad, but
because so much is revealed in the trailers nowadays.
So I figured all the funny jokes had been given away
already. I was wrong. This movie is truly entertaining
and hilarious. I don't remember having such a great
time at the movies in quite a while, even if some
people think it is predictable, but... isn't that the
reason most of us go to movies anyway? To spend
a good time, have a good laugh and hopefully forget
some of our everyday worries? Well this film did
it for me. Congratulations to Miss Bullock, she did
great job both as producer and as a leading lady,
and the supporting cast was amazing. 10/10 - Fresh-17

MISS CONGENIALITY 2: ARMED AND DANGEROUS(2005):

Not quite as good as the first movie, this one
does have the pluses of having William Shatner
returning(though in brief spots throughout the
film), and having the setting be in Las Vegas!! Not
a terrible movie, just not as fresh as the first! B-

From an IMDb.com customer:

This is more than a chick flick it is a homage to
Las Vegas. Sandra Bullock is her funny sassy self
and this film, unlike the first is actually very
entertaining. The trailer does not show miss C2
in the best light, jokes are taken out of context
and it is showed mainly as a chick flick. Greatly
appreciated, it steers away from the love story
and sticks to a more feminine comedic Lethal
Weapon partnership of love/hate. With Barbi
constantly the butt of the joke, this film lets
women breath, lets them watch a film where
they can relate without the onslaught of the
emotional roller-coaster so many chick flicks
take you on. There is no crying, no heart felt
moments of contemplation there is simply
humour and an air of 'lets get on with it'. One
of the better light hearted movies I have seen
this year. Sandra Bullock has the talent to play
anything and pull it off. With a wonderful
location, filmed to pay homage to the gambling
capital, all elements of this film fall into place
to create pure entertainment. - bloggs13
