PLASTIC MAN TV SERIES PAGE

PLASTIC MAN TV SERIES(1976):

The complete animated tv series of Plastic Man!
This doesn't include some of the off-shoot cartoons
that wee part of the Plastic Man Adventure Hour!
The voice for Plastic Man tends to use the humor
of Don Adams(Get Smart: he uses the phrases "of
course, it's the old ------ trick", "missed it by that
much" "would you believe!"), and the one for Hula
Hula is like that of Lou Costello!! Each of the
half hour shows had two episodes, though if you
research the show, IMDb only lists the first one!!

DISC 1:

EPISODE 1: THE WEED:

What d'ya think it's about! lol The Weed stole
the atomic cellular-regeneration formula(a super

A huge meteor is destroyed, but fragments fall to
Earth, and Dr. Irwin finds a piece and it gives him
super strength!! Oh, and it drives him a little nuts! B

A clam, yep, a clam, is pirating ships on the high
seas!! LOL! This series is not known for its seriousness!! B

PUDDLE TROUBLE

The Human Puddle, a wet kinda guy, breaks out
of his cell and starts his life of crime all over
again! This has no Penny, Hula-Hula or Chief!
instead, just Plastic Man and his parole officer,
Archie! It also plays on the fact that Plastic
Man used to be a criminal- now turned Super
Hero after an accident turns him to Plastic!
This is not as snappy and witty as the earlier

From an IMDb.com customer

Dang! Why are some of these reviews so damned
bitter? We are talking about a cartoon, right? A
cartoon that entertained millions of viewers every
week on ABC? We're not talking about someone
that just bombed an abortion clinic are we?

First, to correct some of the information, this
series was produced by Ruby-Spears Enterprises,
not Hanna-Barbera. If the back of the box states
Hanna-Barbera, it's simply because the Ruby-Spears
library of programming was absorbed into TimeWarner
and for legalities, it's under the Hanna-Barbera
umbrella.

I remember watching this cartoon, and while I
never thought it was up to the superior standards
of an HB product, it did have its moments and
is worth purchasing if for no other reason, than
to relive your childhood memories. People just
love to trash Hanna-Barbera, and Ruby-Spears
but I dare any of you to compare their product
with anything that Filmation or DIC put out.

My only complaint about this set, is that it
isolates the "Plasticman" segments and does
not include the other cartoons that were a
part of "The Plasticman Comedy Adventure
Hour": "Rickety Rockey," "Mightyman and
Yukk" and "Fangface." I would have loved
to see the entire block included. As it stands
now, it probably won't happen. Oh well,
that's why God invented Boomerang. - Hanna-Barberian
