BATMAN - 2 MOVIE SET #2

BATMAN BEYOND:
RETURN OF THE JOKER:

The premise of this is that Bruce is now two hundred
years old, and his new protige Terry McGinnis has
taken over the spot of Batman!! (I'm not sure what
happened to Robin(Dick Greyson), as I haven't
followed the Batman comics in years! Anyway,
the Joker is back and looking as young as ever!
(Turns out the answers are in the movie as to
what happened to Dick, as well as his replacement,
Tim Drake! It's kinda what this movie is all about!)!
I'm not a big fan of this, as Bruce Wayne is shown as a
non-caring, non-positive kind of person!! Not at
all the way he was portrayed in the comics of the
40s-70s!! A good enough movie for what it is, just
not my cup of tea! B-

I do not know why this was a direct-to-video
release. It was very exciting and I think it would
have done pretty well in theatres. I rented
BATMAN BEYOND: RETURN OF THE JOKER
because I love the BATMAN BEYOND television
show and I loved BATMAN BEYOND: THE MOVIE.
The first couple of scenes seemed a little too
much like the television show, but as soon as
I saw the new Joker, I knew this was going to
be Batman like we have never seen him before.
This was so different from the show in so many
ways and had such great animation. It was a
fast-paced animated thriller. It was intense.
I loved it. A few days later, I bought it on
DVD and listened to the filmakers' commentary.
I had no idea that so much work was done
on this movie in such a short time. Sadly,
none of the filmakers' mentioned the cuts
that were made by Warner Brothers due to
the amount of violence. I think it would be
really interesting to see the footage that
was cut from the movie. Hopefully, Warner
Brothers will come out with a version that
contains the cut footage some day. Until
then, I'll just enjoy the movie the way
Warner Brothers released it. It is one of
the best animated movie I have ever seen.
I hope there are some more BATMAN
BEYOND movies in the future. - Christopher Smith

BATMAN: MYSTERY OF THE BATWOMAN:

After the previous movie, I had very low
expectations for this one!! Well, once in
a while you get surprised!! This was very
VERY good!!!! I've always liked the way
Kevin Conroy portrays Batman, and the
rest of the crew are all at the top of
their games!! A+

The movie is a great movie, it uses the more
recent character designs so if you are used
to the original show, you'll have to adjust,
but otherwise, visually it is a fantastic treat.
The music is good, as always, it includes
the original Batman theme in there as well
as a new song by an up and comer Cherie
called Betch Neva which is a great song
and played a couple times throughout the
film. there is also a love interest for batman
as well as an antagonist. Voice acting is
superb and the story keeps you entertained.
If you are a fan of all the batman material
that has come before, you owe it to yourself
to watch, especially if you recognize the
characters such as rupert thorne and bane.
Take a look, it is more than worth it. - gohmifune
